Home Network Security

In this session we will discuss the basics of networking, the threats faced by small networks, how to update router software, and how to secure wireless networks. This session is designed to be very interactive and will be tailored to all skill levels. Our goal is to help individuals gain a better understanding of how networks work and what they can do to help protect their network from attacks.

Mobile Device Security

This session will discuss how application permissions work, what an application can access, measures to protect your data, and how to recover lost or stolen devices. Our goal is to engage the audience and  have them consider the security of their mobile device.

Social Networking Security

This session will demonstrate how malicious users can learn more about someone on a social networking site, how to recognize and avoid phishing attempts to steal private information, and how to configure privacy settings. Our goal is to demonstrate that once something is online, it will always be online and to encourage the audience to think before sharing.
